PORT ALICE KAYAK STORAGE FACILITY REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FEBRUARY 4, 2022The Village of Port Alice is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to supply a design/build (D-B) proposal that includes design, work plan, equipment, labour, and materials necessary to complete a kayak storage facility in Lions Park, Port Alice, BC. The indicative design, approved by Village council is attached in Appendix A and outlines the intended scope of work. The facility is to include the following criteria:- Storage for 21-28 kayaks – Adequate space between racks for one (1) person to load/unload their kayak – Internal and external locker facilities for equipment storage – Changing rooms – External fresh water for gear rinsing – Internal and external lighting, and electrical outlets to BCBC – Keyed access through side door – Internally operated overhead garage doors – Levelled, external gravel pad for equipment trailer The approximate building location is shown in Appendix A; however, it is to be located with adequate setback above high-water line.
