Glass, Styrofoam and Plastic Film can now be recycled at the Port Alice Eco-Depot. Eco-Depots allow RESIDENTIAL users to recycle a wide variety of materials from packaging/printed paper to tires and electronics. The BC Government-imposed packaging and recycling program (Recycling BC) requires glass, polystyrene (Styrofoam) and plastic film materials to be taken to an eco-depot.

For more information on Recycling Depot, please visit the website at: http://multimaterialbc.ca/residents

BC’s new recycling program introduced additional recycling categories in Port Alice, including glass, polystyrene (styrofoam) and plastic film. Residents will continue to bring recyclable materials to the Port Alice Recycling Depot at the transfer station.

  • The recycling depot accepts #1 to #7 plastics, including plastic bags showing the recycling symbol.
  • Please help keep the outside depot clean and rodent free. Rinse your milk jugs, plastics and tins and remove any caps.
