Port Alice Boat Launch

Neroutsos Inlet is a favorite destination of sailors and power boaters. The Village of Port Alice owns and operates a municipal boat launch accessible from Marine Drive, adjacent to the Port Alice Yacht Club. The Port Alice launch offers amenities that include: large launch area, dock, fish-cleaning station, portable restroom and ample parking (please observe instructional signage).

The Village of Port Alice is currently reviewing options for designated short and long-term parking, as well as a permitting system. The boat launch is currently free to use by all. No overnight moorage or camping in the parking lot(s) is permitted.

Water Systems

The Village of Port Alice public water system is served by 3 wells from which water is pumped to either of the Village’s two surface reservoir tanks: one wooden 300,000 I. gallon tank and one steel 200,000 I. gallon tank. The Village’s water is not chemically treated and is tested weekly by the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

Sewer System & Waste Water Treatment Plant

Port Alice has a municipal sewer system that picks up domestic sewage, waste water or municipal liquid waste originating from resident and the business community. The waste gathers, treats, transports, stores, utilizes or discharges municipal sewage or reclaimed water.

Roads & Streets

The Village of Port Alice maintains approximately 14 kilometres of roads. The Village annually allocates a maintenance budget for either road re-surfacing roads and/or drainage improvements.

The Village also maintains an extensive system of sidewalks, as well as the popular Sea Walk.
